Kevin has been playing tennis in the Mid-Atlantic area since the age of six. In USTA juniors, Kevin was one of the top-ranked players in the section in the 12s and 14s age groups. Although Kevin suffered from illness at age fourteen that prevented him from training intensely, he still played singles for the Churchill High School boys’ tennis team. Kevin went on to the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where he received an academic scholarship and studied Computer Engineering. Although encouraged to walk-on the Division 1 team, Kevin decided to play on their club team instead. He played number 1 for the club team and later became president of the club. Kevin began coaching tennis five years ago. He coached at the Georgetown Prep Tennis Club for the last two years, working primarily with their advanced and tournament level juniors. Thus far, Kevin has educated many juniors and helped them achieve their goals, and will continue to do so at Montgomery Tennisplex.
