Jeri Ingram

Jeri Ingram was born in Washington, DC and attended schools in Montgomery County, MD where she began her tennis career. Jeri became the first undefeated tennis athlete in high school history at Springbrook High School with a record of 116-0 (1984-1988). A record that still stands today. Jeri achieved the rankings of #6 in singles and #1 in doubles by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) by age 16. She won 3 USTA national titles to achieve this ranking. Following junior competition, she attended the University of Maryland on a full athletic scholarship where she played #1 for the tennis team; she was undefeated in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), voted Most Valuable Player (MVP), and an all-ACC player. Jeri played on the Women Tennis Association (WTA) Professional Tour from 1989-1997 and obtained a career low ranking of #130. Jeri holds 4 – ITF titles, she competed in 14 Grand Slam tennis tournaments to include the US Open, Australian Open, French Open, and Wimbledon.

After the WTA tour, Jeri expanded her strategic vision and founded the non-profit organization, Metropolitan Tennis & Education Group (MTEG). In the past 8 years MTEG provided programs for over 6000 students and graduated 25 High School seniors with tennis & education college scholarships, several professional tennis players, and many other awards. Awards include - 2015 USTA Tennis Organization of the Year Award, 2015 Tennis Industry Magazine Parks & Recreation Program of the Year, and the 2014 Mid Atlantic USTA Tennis Organization of the Year.

As a Hall of Fame member, Jeri continuously volunteers to grow the game of tennis across the nation. Jeri’s Board of Directors and Committee experience includes USTA Community Tennis Association (CTA), Chair, USTA Junior Team Tennis Committee, USTA Mid Atlantic Board of Director – Vice President, USTA MAS Coaches Commission member, and Black Girls Tennis Club Board of Director. Jeri’s certifications include USTA High Performance Coach, PTR Certified Professional – Junior & Adult Development, USTA High Performance Coach and Community Tennis Association Coach. She is a USTA Player Development Faculty Coach.

Jeri earned her BS in Business Administration from American University. Jeri is most proud of her accomplishments as a mother. She has 2 daughters in High School with honors. They are great students and athletes.
