RED BALL – YOUNG (Ages 4-5 yrs)
An introduction to tennis for our youngest new players. Hand-eye coordination, basic movements, cooperation & games are used to teach basic skills. This class is designed to introduce tennis in a fun way to help kids establish a love for the game.

NEW! PARENT-CHILD RED BALL – YOUNG (Ages 4-6 yrs)
Join our NEW fun and engaging Parent-Child Red Ball Tennis Class! Designed for kids aged 4–6 and their parents, this class introduces young players to the fundamentals of tennis. Parents actively participate, making it a fantastic bonding experience while helping your child develop motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and a love for the game. No prior tennis experience needed—just bring your energy and enthusiasm!
Ball Type: Soft and super squishy, these red balls are larger and bounce slower, making them easier for kids to hit.
Racquet & Court Size: Played with smaller racquets (19-23 inches) on a 36-foot court - about the size of a driveway.

This class helps little ones develop coordination and motor skills through fun partner activities like rolling, bouncing, and catching the ball. Kids will work together to practice simple tennis movements on a small 36-ft. court.

RED BALL – Advanced (Ages 6-7 yrs)
For kids who’ve got the basics down and are ready to level up! They’ll work on rallying (hitting the ball back and forth), keeping score, and moving around the court like little pros.
Ball Type, Racquet Size & Court Size: Same as Red Ball - Beginner.
*A player must have received at least a year of tennis instruction to be in Red Ball - Advanced. Coach approval is needed if you are switching from Red Ball - Beginner to Advanced.

ORANGE BALL – Beginner (Ages 8-10 YRS)
Focused on developing hand-eye coordination and movement, this class uses partner based drills like rallying and tossing games to help kids build tennis skills.
Ball Type: A little firmer but still low-compression, these orange balls bounce at a slower speed to build confidence.
Racquet & Court Size: Played with racquets (23-25 inches) on a 60-foot court - similar to the size of a basketball court.

ORANGE BALL – Advanced (Ages 9-10 YRS)
Perfect for kids who can rally and are ready for bigger challenges! They’ll practice hitting with more control, learn smart strategies, and play points on a mid-size court.
Ball Type, Racquet Size, & Court Size: Same as Orange Ball - Beginner

Jr. beginner (ages 11+)
This class is designed for players who have never played tennis before in an instructional setting or have little experience with the sport. The class will be taught using a combination of green dot balls and yellow balls. Players will learn the mechanics of each stroke and how to rally with other players.

JR. Gold (ages 9-12) - green dot ball class
In our NEW Jr. Gold classes, players will use the “green dot” ball, which is faster than the orange ball but still slower and lower bouncing than a standard ball. This helps players to continue to develop good technique while working on tennis point play strategies. Players will learn how to combine consistency and accuracy with shot selection.
*Required to have played tennis for multiple years. Players graduating from Orange Ball - Advanced (coach approval needed) should sign up for this class.

Gold II (ages 13+)
The Gold II class is designed for players who have several years of tennis experience and are ready to take the next step in their development. These players should be able to serve, rally, and consistently place shots at a yellow ball level. Some players may also be ready to try out for their middle/high school teams or are looking to improve on their previous season’s position.

Follow The Steps Below To Register For Classes:
Create an account on the Montgomery TennisPlex CourtReserve System.
To register for a class, click on "Programs" on the top menu bar and then select "Categories."
Select your preferred program.
A list of all the classes for that program will appear on the screen.
Click on the "Register" button for a specific class.
On the next page, click on "Register For Full Event."
If you have not yet set up a payment profile, you will be asked to do so.
Once your payment profile has been created, you can complete the registration.
You will receive a confirmation email of your registration.
